Painted Rebel Assault Frigate for Star Wars Armada
When I bought this frigate it stained in an odd brown colour, like it had been smoking 60 a day!
I wanted to experiment with using dry-brushing for highlights, rather than blending. Also, I wanted to get some more practice at adding battle damage and adding dirt and grime.
It was good to experiement with dry-brushing for hull hughlights. I started off using a small brush but it took ages and i got bored!
Using a bigger brush with more paint produced different effects; this proved to be useful as it stopped the hull from looking too uniform.
Initially, I didn’t intend to much time on this model, but once I got the hull done I couldn’t help myself adding some extra details such as the battle damage shown here.
I also spent some extra time on the engines; with the model being mostly grey, the areas of colour really stand out and can add some life to what might otherwise be a boring model. Sometimes, little is more.
