More Painted Non-official Ships

I’ve not posted for ages – I’ve had a backlog of ships awaiting photographs and I’ve finally got around to producing them.

CIS Separatist Drop Ships

I love these landing craft from The Phantom Menace.

Thee two were painted in a similar way – I tried to give make some contrast between the front and back edges of the wings by using gazing to darken the back edges.

I think the miniatures need some extra colours to make them shine, but I was generally happy with the results.

Imperial Light Carrier

This is such a fantastic model and was really fun to paint.

I painted this in the same style as the two Gladiatror Start Destroyers that I’ve done previously – I glazed each panel to give them a front-to-back gradient of light to dark.

It looks great, even if I do say so myself 

Nebulon-B Frigate Refits

A couple of these bad bois are possibly the best ships I’ve ever painted.  

I tried a nubver of things here.

Firstly, I wanted to have them all with different colours, but nothing too crazy.

I didn’t want to mess around with distressing or battle damage, instead I tried to add colour variation through  a number of ways:

– Washing and staining different patches

and later

– Glazing different patches
