Star Wars Armada – Imperial Squadrons

Bossk Hounds Tooth

This is Bossk’s Hounds Tooth or a YV-666 light freighter painted in brown with a some light brown dry-brushing.  This was pretty straight forward to do. I was quite pleased with the simple detailed areas in green and red.

Boba Fett Slave 1

This is an early Slave 1 / Firespray 31 that I painted in simple grey and red, which proved to be quite effective.  I enjoyed painting Firesprays as they have smooth panels with which you can blend & highlight.

Lambda Shuttle

A relatively simple paint job primarily using Games Workshop’s Russ Grey paint. Some simple detail with yellow stripes helps bring the model to life.

TIE Advanced

A set of TIE Advanced squadrons done in grey.   I did a tiny bit of blending for the highlights, but I mainly used dry-brushing.  After looking at these photos I’ve come to the conclusion that dry-brushing is good enough for such small miniatures; the time it takes to do blending isn’t really worth while.

TIE Fighters

A set of TIE Fighters in grey. I was really pleased with how these little guys turned out.

TIE Phantoms

I took a quick-and-dirty approach to painting these TIE Phantoms.  If you just want to get past having hordes of grey plastic on your tabletop then there is a lot of mileage in doing a plain base coat and just dry-brushing over it.  Then just add a bit of detail like the yellow ends tho the laser cannons.

With these guys I regret not doing some more shading on the cockpit as this is easy and would add a bit of missing depth to the paintwork.

TIE Interceptors

TIE Interceptors – my favourite squadron!  I think I actually bought these guys already painted with a the blueish colour scheme, so I  just add some additional highlights and detail.
