Zombicide 2nd Edition Commission

My 2025 Changes

I’ve not posted a blog post in ages for a number of reasons. My 2025 commission capacity was taken up largely with this big Zombicide commission, which completed at the end of Q3 2025. During the time I was doing it, I had to change around my small studio space and I no longer have a place to take good photos.

Sadly, until I have a bigger place, the quality of my photos will be poor. This is demotivating to say the least, and hence no blog posts since April 2025!

This Zombicide 2nd Edition Commission

I split the commission in to two parts when it came to my approach:

1. Paint the characters and abominations to a good standard
2. Paint the zombies as quickly as possible!

Oil Washes

I experimented with using oil washes to help speed up the painting of the Zombies. This worked to some extend – but I think I need much more experience using this technique, ideally not on a commission project!
The idea was to give a dark brown wash to blend in all the colours; this worked on some of the minis, but not of others. I probably should have chosen colours that would work well with brown!
